Part of this is due to the 'chasing the meta' mentality of many Arena teams. I build teams that I find fun to play, with characters from the SW universe that I like. Many players just build teams that will provide the highest rate of Arena returns.

It would be interesting if the GW algorithm tracked which toons you'd already played, and tried to avoid pitting you against teams with too many of the same toons for each battle. The meta has recently become more diverse - we're seeing dodge, assist, droid, rebel, clone and ewok teams. I'm personally seeing more diversity in GW nightly than I did back in February.
