How to fix gear grind

I totally understand purple gear should be harder to obtain. But making us grind 50 of a single piece, AND having the drop rate lowered is just mean.
So, here is my solution. Make the drop rate for gear universal. The amount of stun cuffs needed is absolutely insane, but I could possibly get 50 in 2 days, it would make life so much easier. And the 50 in 2 days is with me spending all my bonus energy, and 2 refreshes on grinding. With the new raid exclusive gear, and plenty of other pieces that are needed, it would still be hard, but it wouldn't take weeks of grinding for a single piece of gear, only to find out you need 20 more.

  • I'd love this would be addressed the way you propose or other way to make us happier. However, why do you think the company is interested in addressing it?
I do not want to be mean, but my feeling is that every single aspect in the game is a grind. Every new content follows the same pattern. It's frustrating and discouraging, specially after about a year of playing. I don't think the developmental team is thinking in changing that model.

Obviously they want the grind to be hard, so people will spend money to skip it. But if a certain grind becomes too much, like credits, I hope they'll make changes so they don't lose players.
  • Yes I totally agree with you. The problem is that given the potential of the game, in terms of mechanics, franchise name... It's overwhelmingly underperforming in revenue: instead of maintaining or increasing with new content it has decreased, and only marginally increase with some updates during a short window. Given that, and given that the grind model/pattern is exactly the same, or even enhanced, I am very pessimistic about changes in the right direction from the players perspective.

Really? They're still making a ridiculous amount of money every day. Of course, I haven't looked at specifics. I know mods almost destroyed the game, but everything since has been pretty solid. As long as they nail ships...
  • Around march daily was 120-140k. Now is around 80-90. In between were Guilds, mods, cap increases, new AAT raid, tournaments... Yet it decreased consistently.
It's not how much you make, but, imho, how much you could make, and when you see other games making 10X, you start to think something is wrong, specially with a such successful franchise as SW.
I really want to see the ships update. But I have a bad feeling about it. I fear it will just be another unnecessary grind. One more.
