How would you rank the SWGOH Characters in Canon?

With all this talk of certain SWGOH characters not getting the respect they deserve. It got me thinking, how would you actually rank them?
Some ground rules:
1) Let’s focus on combat abilities/force abilities, less so on tactics (Tarkin, Ackbar) or political power (Padme?)
2) Respect battle outcome or canon dialogue. (I.e. Maul must be above Savage, Sidious above Maul as per Clone Wars)
3) Only SWGOH characters in their respective timeframe (Sidious is not Palpatine)
4) Not advocating SWGOH respect this list, as it would take away from the fun of puzzle-building

I was going to do only the top 10 for now, (with explanations in parenthesis). But I think it’s better to do the top 5 Light Side and the top 5 Dark Side, as there is less debate that way. Then you can add them together and do the top 10 combined.

Light Side
1) Grand Master Yoda
2) Mace Windu
3) Jedi Knight Anakin
4) Plo Kloon (seemed to have gotten tougher assignments in Clone Wars than QGJ. We didn’t see much of QGJ in canon)
5) Qui-Gon Jinn
Notable mentions: Ahsoka Tano, Kit Fisto, Rey

Dark Side
1) Darth Sidious
2) Darth Vader
3) Count Dooku
4) Darth Maul
5) Kylo Ren (TBD if Kylo would beat Maul… I think Maul was a better swordsman)
Notable mentions: Asajj, Cad Bane, General Grievous, Savage, Geonosian Soldier (kidding…)

Remember just because A can beat B doesn't mean that A can also defeat C Anakin is more powerful than Kenobi (more powerful feats?) if both minds are clear Anakin wins IMO but in their battle he got too arrogant and Kenobi used the only advantage he managed to gain and Anakin tried to press him anyway if Anakin regroups and presses his attack some more he eventually breaks through Kenobis guard and washes him since I don't think Kenobi could have held up against that onslaught for much longer. I think Windu had a Vaapad advantage on Sidious but Yoda did not have that advantage which explains why it was a stalemate between Yoda and and Sidious even though it is said that Yoda is the greatest Jedi warrior and even though it looked like Mace had Sidious on the ropes. Styles make fights.

I would say Obi Wan is stronger than Anakin BECAUSE Anakin is arrogant. For Jedis, being calm, wise, humble and thoughtful is a weaponby itself. Anakin was lacking in that department, which was Obi Wan strongest point.

To give an example, it is like saying Floyd Mayweathrr is not a better fighter than, say, Canelo or Corto or Pacquiao, it is just that he is calm and clever and defends well abd never gets nervous. Well, that's WHY he is a better boxer.

Anakin would be better than Obi Wan if he werent arrogant and overcomfident and passional... But then he wouldnt be Anakin, he would be a different person. I dont know ifj that imaginary person would beat Obi Wan, but I know Anakin couldnt because he couldnt keep his passions in check.

Although Obi Wan beat Anakin, you can't always just go "he beat him, he beat him, etc". Dooku made Obi Wan look like a child while anakin beheaded him. I think Obi Wan would have admitted Anakin was much more powerful than him, although he was much wiser.
    Oh and Mace beat Sidious

Guys, I meant Plo Koon got tougher assingments in Clone Wars than QGJ did in his time! Obviously QGJ is dead by Clone Wars. I followed that up by saying that QGJ didn't get much airtime in canon, so difficult to assess how he compares to Plo Koon.

However, QGJ did some pretty powerful force developments after he died, so unclear.

    Re: Ben.

Can we agree that Clone Wars Obi Wan would be ranked higher than Old Ben? Or No?
  • Every Jedi who fought in Clone Wars got tougher assignments than QGJ, because it was war time. Before the clone wars Jedi were peacekeepers, which means: no tougher assignments but diplomatic ones. That being said i think QGJ was a mighty Jedi . For starters he was able to retain his consciousness after death and communicate with Yoda and Obi Wan after death (if you watched clone wars you know how difficult it is to get that training). Also QGJ was able to sense the force that Anakin had before making a stup*d test. And finally he has a great leader ability (+23 speed to all Jedi)

As for Obi Wan, i think it is meaningless to compare younger and older selves of him. When he was young he had a great lightsaber skills (capable of killing a Dark Lord), and when he was older he was a much wiser man.
