I see both sides.
I find the 50 banners rule to be annoying.
I regularly set defense & with 7 GLs, I'm unlikely to not be able to pull off 50 on offense, but the rule itself is not a great one.
If you have freeloaders in your guild then its on the officers to boot them.
That said, it should also be on the officers to list what is needed for defense & no one should be dropping their entire force on defense blocking others from having any shot.
Now, if you show up to deploy defense w/ 30 minutes left, and found it full, well you shouldn't have waited so long.
The solution should probably be a lower figure, like, 5-10 so a single success on a previously hit team counts v/s 3 moderately successful hits on fresh opponents.
Obviously skipping defense is bad, but, I can honestly say with a grocery shopping trip Friday night & an HOA Board Election Saturday morning that I missed defense on our last TW with the distractions.
It happens.
I still hammered offense for 300-400 points but I can see if your guild happens to be facing some OP target that puts up GL walls that your not equipped to break that it might be a problem occasionally.
I wouldn’t mind them dropping it to, say, 10 points, but at the end of the day that threshold has to be arbitrarily set somewhere.
Playing devil’s advocate on the theme of IRL distractions, yes, sometimes life gets in the way, and a player might miss def and depending on time zones they might miss a lot of the offence phase as well. But in those cases the player hasn’t actually contributed to a victory or loss for their guild, so….
do they then actually deserve any rewards?
