I have nothing but the deepest contempt for the players who sit around inactive in GAC the whole day, making me think I have a shot, then the hour before the round ends swoops in and full clears.
Stop giving me hope, mate, just take the win at the beginning of the day. Really brings me down right when I’m about to turn in for the night.

What? That’s not at all what I’m saying! I’d built up a hope that they were inactive. I thought I’d get the win despite not being optimistic about my chances to begin with. I was wrong, and lost.
I don't really understand how you have contempt for those players then. You're expecting them to give you charity and you hate them for not doing it. Do you beg on the street corner and hate people who walk by without giving you a dime?

It wasn’t a preset notion, it was an optimistic observation as the hours ticked by. I was unfortunately disappointed.
If you play under the assumption that your opponent is simply not going to log in and just give you a free win, you are going to find yourself disappointed a majority of the time

You have completely missed the point because you don’t have the context.
I don’t rely on RD. I don’t whine about “unfair matchups” because I know you get outclassed quite often because I’ve punched up a fair bit, and I actually plan out my attacks and strategise.
What irks me is how they sit at zero all day and I start to think “Huh, they’re an inactive account. Let’s clear as much as I can anyway just in case.” This time was no different, except the rug was pulled out the hour before the timer ended. Now, I would like to amend my original post by saying I don’t really think they’re doing it to spite me, I’m more frustrated at circumstances. Like “Darn, unlucky fate strikes again”, which is why I said I was disheartened but not deliberately slighted.
