Ineligible to participate in this raid due to it being launched before you joined the guild

No it was never mentioned in the update, but it came with the most recent update.

You could swap guild members until players catch up.

The guild I am does this... We have a few heavy hitters that go to another guild with their super squads for a while to cover that last 10-20% until the members catch up.

Thanks for the constructive input....not everyone has spent $1000's like you.

We merged guilds last year, and their strongest players graduate into our guild when a space opens, rather than cast aside the weaker members when we merged - we help them, and new players - I hope this makes sense to you

@Twin yeah we will have to alter how we work it, move across before they launch - there's ways around it, just frustrating we werent made aware in any update notes. It's a wasted raid for them, not an issue for those of us helping them who already have han at 7* but for those guys they've lost a weeks worth of shards to them

It is in the raid notes I believe. Slipped in quietly. If they can't complete it with what they have they'll probably need to quit it and start a lower tier raid.

That's irrelevant, I'm not even in a heroic guild. I have no GK or HS shards. But I've stuck with my guild mates, I usually rank 7th in rewards, we all left a guild were the leader and officers were inactive. We struggle to manage 30 members. So money spent doesn't have anything to do with it.

Have your guys considered a merge with someone? A full guild is a big help - both in terms of ticket generation and progression in raids. If you've got a 10 guys on a similar spend/roster level to yours (guessing given you said you normally place 7th) heroic rancor should be on the cards

You might have to be open to your lot moving to join someone else - if you've got 10 main guys carrying how many are active enough to move?

There's also to consider do you want to merge where your strongest guys are still the strongest, or are you open to moving into a guild that's stronger than your lot right now?
