Not exactly. The rate at which the top members can grow their characters by paying for the materials or switching a team when the meta changes pretty much keeps me well out of the top 100 in my shard. So money does boost ones game and secures the advantage.

I cant agree with this, i am always behind the current meta (will have Traya in like 3-4 weeks) and i am a top 10 arena player. There are just some things you NEED to do to score big in both arenas, specially in the base arena (ships can be easier).

What do I need to do to keep both F2P and start ranking up in arena?

What is your GP? The standard JTR team can still rank well in arena. Standard Sith. Nightsisters. Bastilla Jedi. There's a lot of teams that can still consistently win on offense.

As I said earlier....I’m FTP.... Like you I had zEP Arena team, great speed mods, zThrawn etc. Bastila arrived and guess what I switched! Jedi are the very definition of an easy FTP team. You didn’t need to be a whale to do this.
I now have two very strong teams :) Just need to Zeta Old Ben and my Jedi will be rock solid.

Also, to those saying it invalidates the effort of the previous team - you are not breaking into the Top 50 with 3* Bastila by herself! You need high gear, fast GMY & Ezra + at least one tank - GMY zeta at a minimum and ideally zeta Ezra and zeta Devoted Protector. Bastila herself needs G11 and great mods. PLUS, dozens of others are doing the same thing ;)

I remember the days when teams held in Arena...hopefully these changes build a little bit of wall for PTP & hardcore players vs FTP and those bad with resources and decision making.

Yes. As one of those that are saying Bastilla is viable at 3* it is more skewed towards players that have been playing longer.

So I can understand players that haven’t been playing as long it’s more difficult. That being said - hy , Ezra - will help you clear HAAT faster with better better scores to get gk. PHX is needed in many different areas of the game.

Ezra and kanan are PHX/Jedi/Rebels- that help you get gmy, palp, and Thrawn.

Not holding on d sucks but is wide spread throughout arena shards.

Not to say these are easy but atleast farming these toons help you in so many other areas of this game and this Jedi team.
Bast as well is useful now, and even though it’s speculation , she might be useful later.

Tldr: it’s hard being a newer player with many different farms. But the toons for this Bast led Jedi team are useful all over. They should all be on players farm list.

This game is definitely geared towards F2P players at this moment. The top squads in arena are all f2p toons! And top hstr teams are all f2p toons. Whales no longer have a significant time advantage before new toons are made accessible to f2p to max them out, and even when they are released they are viable at the 3*/4* level solely for f2p, new players. That whole gap between whales and f2p washed out with the release of MT. Also what is the hatred for the sea life anyway, you cannot get angry at those who have because you don't, that's jealousy and we all know that leads to the darkside. I dont work for free, they dont work for free, and I'm pretty sure you would not work for free. Yes they need and should, yes should charge to unlock certain portions of the game. They have bills and family too and it takes time and knowledge to sit and code for hours so we can entertain ourselves. They need to get paid dude, period. The marine life that chucks up money for game content is what keeps the f2p "sea sponges" fed and able to play this game at all, but the game needs the bottom feeders also to keep the game interesting, its symbiotic, you know the whole circle of life. I myself am a penguin. I spend on what I like that goes the furthest. If I want to play at the elite level I must do as the elite do. Cant get a free ride through everything in life. Lol, like the millions this game makes won't "feed a few families". You are dismissing legitimate frustrations based on a myth that the poor devs, are starving, just hoping they can get by . . Devs needs to rip people off to save thier families, right?. . . Blah

How about some honesty Whales pay up big cash to win. They -should- be able to win most of the time. If you are f2p, accept it. This game isn't about skill, it's about having more than your opponent. Those who pay have more, and that's ok.

Think of it from the whale perspective. You just dropped 1000 on a mobile game and you can't win, what? Talk about absurd, why pay anything if doing so doesn't matter? If I dropped 1000 I'd expect to win, and you would too.

I've been F2P since game release... Just because you don't have maxed out brand new characters doesn't mean you arent competitive.... I have a huge roster and am able to place top 7 in TW in my guild that is 168mil gp just because I am consistant and play every day (doesnt take much time every day).

Plus a lot of these new characters are usable at low stars.... E.g. bastila I use at 3*... Nest is usable and the Qui'ra scoundrel TW defense team is able to get some defensive wins even massively undergeared and starred.... Its been that way for a while too e.g. nihilis was gold on release as well....

Note I do all of that and I still dont have JTR because I didnt care enough to farm the vets up when I was still competative in arena against her without her first with GK lead and then with Palp rework... It's far easier to be F2P than it was at launch.... So many options available than everyones arena consisting of Sid and Lumi....

This^. Some people just choose to be blind to this. FTP and casual spenders are still important to the survival of this game. CG doesn’t seem to understand that.

Agreed. The not adding toons to stores I think hurts in the long run and hurts players that are newer. I thought a good compromise would be layering the stores at least.

Hard nodes are kitten to all. (Again sucks for everyone)

But the 8 attempts are nice and should be there forever. I had to stop farming visas and holdo to farm others.

But as a player that still needs to farm store toons (some you absolutely do not need to) you can still use those tokens.

I got 120 toons i cannot gear because 6 stun guns a day when you need thousands of them.... everything else can be had.... greeeeeeed
