I remember this too. They did say it. I am not going to look it up either. It does not matter. GET-only characters are now required for JKL.
Moral: CG retains the right to change how this game works at any time. Precedent means little around here. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
I think it’s telling that neither of you are going to look it up.
Because when the rest of us do look and say we can find no such promise, you can just lazily reply “you haven’t looked hard enough”.

You also need to understand that they, at any time, can change the content of ANYTHING they've ever posted.
If you lot said it doesn't exist now, then it was removed. CG will know that they've played it dirty, and not care. That's their prerogative. They've taken an adversarial approach to the playerbase for all the years that I've played this game, so i'm absolutely not surprised that it's gone now.
