Jin's Droid Factory: K2SO and you, why daze will ruin everyone's day
You've created your droid team. You've gear 11'd everyone. Your Jawa Engineer can finally survive a wiggs hit. Now what? Some crazy lanky looking droid comes in to muck up your lineup? You had it perfect...so where does K2so fit in?
I'm glad you asked! Let's get this out of the way first, yes he should have been available for both platforms. Currently only Android users have been able to max him or even get him I hear. However this thread is to discuss his utility, not his availability.
Let's start out with his basic. It lands offense down which nuters Anakin's attack, Vader's culling blade, and Boba's execute. That alone is great, but you always had it with ig100. However it also can also trigger K2's taunt most of the time which is absolutely instrumental at keeping your other droids alive and je healing. Plus K2SO will gain TM, take two turns and be ready to Daze someone again.
OK....Daze. This ability does three things. It stops TM gain from abilities, it keeps someone from assisting, and it stops counter ability. So your JE recalibrates and K2 goes first. who do you daze? Since droids are AOE you'll want to daze Biggs immediately if facing him. That one move alone wins you the match against a wiggs team. If Anakin is present and you want to kill off Lando or other key members then you can daze Annie and he'll just sit there. Opponent have a B2? Daze him and he will no longer gain TM when you wipe out his comrades.
Fives becomes a non-issue when dazed and sunfac suddenly gets annihilated when he can't counter and heal himself. Palatine can't gain TM from his shocks, Tie Pilot is only as fast as his speed allows, and Vader can't culling blade after he forced blasts your team. Baze can't counter and his buddy Churro will just sit there. The effects of daze can be used in almost every battle!
The trick is weighing damage vs daze vs dispel vs AOE in your droid team. Your core three are HK lead, IG88, Jawa Engineer. The two after that are modular depending on what team you're facing. Do you add B2 to counter that Shore Trooper? Ig86 to kill Rex right away? Or ig100 for TM reduction and survivability? Hk/je/88/K2/100 is great against an AOE team as it will provide plenty of counter damage and free TM. Ig86 and K2 is a great combo for straight damage against a Wiggs team after you daze Biggs or wedge.
K2so is a great tank as well. Modding him will depend on your tastes but I suggest hard damage number offense secondaries. You want to deal damage with a droid team and modded with +80s and +100s secondary he will crit for 7k a hit and take a lot of turns, giving him more Daze attacks. Getting k2so to fire off first turn after je will almost guarantee you a win if his daze lands on a wiggs or Anakin team. His taunt will protect everyone else as you lay waste.
So in the end K2SO is ABSOLUTELY critical in a droid team that faces multiple wiggs/palpatine/Tfp/counter teams on an arena shard. Less so if you're facing a bunch of tanks you need dispelled, but deadly against certain tanks like Base and RG who rely on counters and TM.
