As a higher division player, OP is placing at least 2 more defensive squads each match. (2)(90)(12) = 2,160. Sorry to say your kyber guild mates are just plain outperforming you, seeing as you get 2160 points simply for breathing that they can't access.
That said, yes it's harder to get kyber in Div 1 and 2. I think the main cause is not the point cutoff (although that contributes), but rather the spread of roster quality. In Div1/2 there are fewer junk rosters and therefore fewer easy matchups. The more one-shot full clears you get, the easier it is to make kyber - they are almost as important as wins.
By the way, if you complete all feats and full clear all matches, it still takes 9-3 or better to make Div 2 kyber. That's what I did this GA. 9-3, all clear (a couple in the 1850 range but most around 1900). The only feat I have left is the Mace fleet battle. With that feat, I'll be 150 points over the line, without it 50 points over the line.
