Valid points, but again he is not even playing the same game that a lot of division 1 is.

Not facing GL's, and playing against gear 11 characters (who also are missing key zeta's) is like playing the game in 2018. I suppose roster management is now correlating to progressing beyond a certain point, which is fine everyone plays at their own pace.

Let me say this another way, because of the matchmaking I literally see the same 20ish people all the time over and over. So if for some odd reason I was able to convince them to just set the same level of characters showcased above, or better yet my opponents set garbage and not try, I could also score unrealistic banner counts and actually complete insane feats. So how would that prove player ability? Better start working on my charisma and lay on the charm.

It's just not a very good set up.

I would say he has deferred on building his roster, in this case management is crossing between progression and just stalling out. Everyone plays at their own pace which is fine, and I wouldn't want anyone to play outside their comfort zone.

I literally play the same 30ish people over and over, the top 80 GP characters in our profiles rarely change unless there is a new release and surpasses them. So I guess to be a better player as you define it, I do have options. Work on my charisma and charm and ask my opponents to not set both of their GL's, set some g11's or just some non synergy garbage, and I can mop up all the banners and get to first. To top it off as I posted his matches above just ask them to not attack so it's a clear win.

How does that prove anything about player ability again?

The main complaint with the previous system was fluff hurting matchmaking. This new mm solved it to some degree as I can do as much fluff as I want to by a realistic definition what would be fluff. But it's still very much a brute force approach that doesn't care of the intricacies of the make up of top X, so whether enhanced to consider more toons (x+20 etc.) it will never be capable of "develop your roster as much as you can" unless you are specifically building in consideration for it.

Everyone that used to do -lean- are still doing it as there's no reason to change that. Unlike me where ackbar 12+3 is the 80th highest gp, they'll be much more careful not to push anything new without significant potential to go into their top X.

I’m not saying MM is bad, what I am saying is the division entry needs to be based upon the MM and then everyone in the div should have the chance of meeting anyone else in the div.

As it currently is, I will never meet Bus 74 in GAC even though we are both in the top div. even if we were next to each other on the leaderboard.

It is a stupid system which allows weak rosters to finish at the top of the top div.

Not sure I understand the division entry idea. MM as is works on you vs. possible candidates that have pretty close top X to you. And division cutoffs are static. Say this is reversed, how many divisions does that make? In order for me to reasonably meet someone else the division I'm in shouldn't have too different top x. So hundreds of divisions?

There would only need to be the same number of divisions but everyone in each division should be able to meet everyone in that same division. Maybe the MM needs to be tweaked. Currently, there are individuals in Div 1 and I’m guessing the other divs as well that will never meet other People in the same div. Due to how they have minimized and managed their entire roster.

Accordingly, the people who win the div are not necessarily the best players.

Well, he/she does put Ewoks on D too, but still got higher score than his/her opponents. When you have less than 5M GP and keep your best weapons for offense, it's not unusual that Ewoks are among your best teams left for D. Maybe it doesn't happen at your higher GP level though.

Ewoks aren't horrible D if you went wicket logray and have 150ish potency on Lo. Then the opponent isn't using nest

While I agree that higher GP doesn’t equal better player, neither does lower GP roster that never meets higher GP roster. The current system rewards immature rosters in Div 1 (and possibly other tiers).

I would definitely expect that the guys at the top of tier 1 would have the top 80 chars (if that is how mm works) to be g13 and high relic. As they would be able to set top defence and have a lot left for top offense.

Currently a roster like that would never meet Bus74, so how can Bus 74 if he wins claim to be the top player?

Sure, but higher GP does equal higher division, and division 1 is generally seen as the 'best'. However, division 1 is entirely too large, and always will be so long as they use static GP numbers as the floors for each division. Characters are constantly released and people are constantly building their roster. Without a change every active player would end up in division 1. It should be based on percentage imo. Top 10% of GP in the game goes into division 1, 20% division 2, etc. That way you wouldn't really see a top player winning without a fully developed roster. And you wouldn't be able to stop progressing your GP while still remaining in the top division.

1956 doesn't seem unbelievable for div 1 if they have to set 8 squad defenses and fleet. i quite often get 1910-1925 in division 2 when i full clear with 1 battle each. and i don't undersize very often as i almost always lose battles when undersizing.
