Leader Ability

I always have this question, I know the leader ability can be shared but still work only for the character when is not in leader position? I didn't max all leader abilities yet in the characters that ...

Leader abilities are completely off if the character is not in the leader position or one of your allies. If the leader dies, his leader ability will still apply to the other characters until the end of battle.
