If you care only about omicrons, then I think these changes are positive. If you're active every day, then you are guaranteed 3 omis per week from the store. You won't need to achieve any GC feats to do buy them. You can get to track 40 without completing GC which will grant another 3 omis.
You should be able to get 15 out of 16 omis without doing any of the GC feats.
TL;DR
Calculations for the guaranteed omis at the store
- EC are obtained every 5 milestones (so every 25,000 EP)
- The minimum currencies received by these milestones is 2,500. So every 2 milestones will grant 5,000 which is enough to cover the cost of the omis in the store
- At most, you'll need to cover 9 milestones each week to buy the omis which is 45,000 EP
- Daily challenges and Episode quests grant 47,200 EP, so its possible to cover 9 milestones each week without completing any GC feats
