Making Up Toons?

What game company wouldn't jump on the opportunity on creating their own toon?

Not just company, but imagine being a designer and being asked, "Hey do you wanna create a new Star Wars Character?"

I don't know too many people in this forum, who as proclaimed Star Wars fans, wouldn't jump at that opportunity.

I'm sure some folks here, myself included, have made up our own SW characters, either in our head or on paper.

Personally, I think it's pretty cool.

100% agree with everything you just said. However, you being excited about a character you created and someone else being excited about it are 2 different things. Some random droid that doesn't have any connection to the larger storyline is just meh to me as a fan of Star Wars. Maybe if I was a fan Derrick the designer I'd be more excited.

MSF did this with Kestrel and Deathpool and hit a home run(s) imo. Kestrel not so much because of the story but because she just flat out dominated the game. Deathpool actually was given an interesting story AND was a top notch character.
