Mostly the problem is the expectations of the community did not match the outcome. Unlike some other reworks, gg and droids were highly anticipated and hyped, mostly because of Ahnahld and because people seem to like grievous and droids more. The community was expecting them to be better than they are and CG (once again) didn’t listen to what the community wanted and released a fairly stinky pile of poo compared to what the community was expecting. It’s not that there is something wrong with gg and the droids, it’s simply that they got overhyped and didn’t live up to the hype.
If you compare this to the BH rework, there wasn’t nearly as much hype for the BHs and what we got was pretty much what the community expected. Not so in the case of gg.
