Mod Cap

Am I the only one who consistently hits the mod cap? I work on mod challenges every day to try to improve the mods I have in my inventory, so I can give characters I'm working on the best possible mods. I only give my characters MK V and sell the rest. I don't give all of my characters a full set of mods because it costs 250k credits per mod to get the mod from level 1-15 (1.5 million each character). I'm a 660k GP player. Credits and MK V stun guns are my biggest crunches right now. I just find it annoying to have to constantly sell the mods. Why is it possible to have endless amounts of gear stored up but not mods?

Wow really? I didn't know that

Sorry I wasn't clear. If your account is newer it will. Not sure if you are new or not but as long as they aren't your top 80 toons you'll be fine.
  • Depends on what you mean by a new account. I played this game within the first year of release (don't remember the exact start date) then quit until recently. I started playing the game again in January on a new account because I thought my original account was gone but I was able to recover it thanks to facebook connect. So really I started up again in February or March. I doubt I'll ever up catch up in my squad and fleet arenas but I'm okay with this. I have less than 80 characters at 50. My roster is here: https://swgoh.gg/p/757612489/characters/
  • Matchmaking counts your top {x} characters where {x} is the number of characters per squad * number of defensive squads * 2 (defense+offense).

For GACs including a fleet zone it seems likely that the same formula is applied to fleets and then the two numbers added together. I have not seen anyone produce hard evidence for this as yet though subjectively it would explain the general balance of my matches: I am more invested in fleet than many of my opponents and they tend to have more top-end squad GP though not always wisely spent in GAC terms.

So if you want to improve your GAC matchmaking situation, you need to be thoughtful about which characters and ships you power up and how far you power them up.

Powering up one squad to high relics for example while neglecting the general balance of your roster will draw tougher opponents at matchmaking time and wont necessarily help you in GAC or elsewhere.

Then yeah, doing this will probably hurt you so I'd advice not to.
