Mod Material drop rate

It's nice we can now farm two kinds of mod material on the same node, but it's always that one material is much more in demand than the other one.

For example, you need way more capacitors for mod slicing than amplifiers. Since I have to farm them together, I'm always short on capacitors, while the amplifiers are piling up in my inventory.

Same goes for MK1 Fusion Coil and MK1 Power Flow Control Chips on Mod battle 9-B and Mk Fusion Disks and Mk1 Bonding Pins on 9-A.

It would be much more logical and player friendly to adjust the drop rate relative to the usefulness of the material. Meaning higher drop rate for capacitor, fusion coils and disks. But I sometimes have the feeling opposite is the case when farming.

Interesting. I never farm the 18 energy nodes. All my processors and breakers are coming from GC. And I have plenty of them.

I don't usually farm it either, but now I had to do it. It's pretty logical that one's preference would be towards circuit breakers since majority still has mods that could become better with the cheapest bump. This has also been the case for me but now I have secondary speed arrow focus which made me push all of them towards gold until speed maxed. I don't have anything below 5a though besides new coming mods and I stopped farming all lower mats.

Capacitor/amplifier imbalance is certainly a thing because capacitors are used by themselves on 6e+ ups. I'm trying to balance that out by grabbing capacitors with gac currency from time to time.

I spend all my gac currency on modulator, because the drop rate on 9-D is so bad. I get your point on enhancing existing mods, but I just realized I'm terribly short on offense mods. In the past it was all about speed, but now (partially also because of DC and release of new toons) offense is the new thing. So I have to farm off mods and bring them up from scratch, which gives me the mod material crunch at the moment I guess.

How did you gather droprate there is bad? I farm that node often. Didn't keep any track but nothing seems out of the ordinary.

I'm a bit short too, but not the level I can't cover all in use. I have about 1200.

Not sure, might just be bad rng. But for me the drop rate for modulator is bad.

    This is node 9D right?

I crowdsourced 527 attempts. 28% drop rate for the modulator, 30% for the circuit breaker, and 21% for the attenuators.
  • What I am always short on, and it's not even close, are the thermal exchange units. On 9E, 712 attempts, 30% drop rate.

That’s odd. I have close to 1000 of those on the bank. Of all the mod materials, I got the most of those. And I never farm them. I don’t even know where they are coming from, probably from GCs.

I guess you can run out of them if you upgrade 6 dot mods beyond 6d a lot.
