yeah, the color doesn't matter as long as it has a speed secondary showing.
In fact, for a good bit of time earlier in the game it will be easier to come by slicing materials than it will a couple extra million credits. During that period, you'll actually feel like you scored extra well when you pick up a green 5-dot for 2.5 mill instead of finding a gold for 3.9mill.
Of course things will change over the course of the game, and there will come a day when you're happy to pay an extra 1.4M to bypass the need for slicing mats, but the OP is a long way from that.
