Also lower end guilds did not have large numbers of Wat ready and many KAM ready anyway. Within 3 years most will have moved to guilds focusing on similar interests. Some guilds still rotate Geo’s to boost shards particularly Wat who is a low bar investment to complete the mission and required for JMK. These characters took players years to obtain and many of us moved guilds for better yields of shards, and I would rather see some equivalent in effort. Think of Mk3 as old TB shard catch up which you can use on kyro’s when done or instead of if ‘you’ choose not to use it on shards. It is the only source of them when not doing Geo TB so it should be an Easy decision if you want shards, they are more valuable than kyro’s if you need the character's. Whilst there are many sources of Kyros to sustain progression. I do not use Mk3 for Kyros I use it mostly for mod attenuators since I used it to complete KAM, it ended up equivalent to my guilds performance of 20-25 when RotE for came out. As a TB officer during Geo era it was painful to get investment in 501st for KAM shards, so earning it through Mk3 almost mimics the choices players made back then. Could be Reva ready for a TB guild. Good focused roster for TW focused. Or chasing ‘latest’ content like raids, this is easy to hyper focus. Then you can get into more efficient and larger guilds tired of larger and inactive players. The past content will deal with itself as you get better rewards. KAM is not currently a requirement. He is a nice to have. Guilds rotating between dark side Geo and RotE have accelerated access to Wat! As you can do missions in DS Geo and then use RotE Mk3 during the LS Geo. I did the comparison for my guild as a TB officer when we switched. We switched immediately for LS as KAM was much better on Mk3 from an average guild getting 20 shards from missions. And we left DS Geo for a while to finish off some members at a fast rate as we got 30-40. So it is easier now. But staying in inefficient guilds is also a choice that does not need to improved by altering the economy. And players do not need every character immediately, there is no issue unless there is no way around it. Whilst clearly there are more focused guilds which can help, which still run DS Geo. I know one planning on doing a KAM run once they have more than 20 KAM ready so it may be more useful to hit up the forums for these guilds rather than wait for things to be changed which may or may not happen.I'm done with KAM. It doesn't matter to me. But he needs to be more accessible for newer guilds as he's needed in ROTE operations. Sure, he's not yet required to unlock another character, but he's needed for the game mode that replaced LS Geo for most guilds and that's an oversight that CG should address.

The problem is that everyone wants to do end game stuff and wants CG to catch them all up no matter how long they have played the game. Why dont you just ask CG to sell every character all the time for money or crystals? Why not have every marquee and galactic chase running at all times? Lets just have everyone at the same spot no matter when they started or how they managed their account.

LS Geo is over 4 years old and they essentially deleted the game mode. Asking for a single character to be reasonably farmable after they essentially killed access to it is not out of the question. And if you expect all new players to wade through 9 years of content to get to where you currently are, only to still be 9 years behind, that's an entirely different thing wrong with how you think about the game. Old content should be sped up. It's why we have things like accelerated drops. And we got double gear drops. And we got mod rate improvements. And Galactic Bounties for ROLO and IPD. Wat and KAM are no different.

That's definitely a valid alternative solution to galactic bounties or reduced GET3 costs.

I've brought up adding KAM to Coruscant and Wat to Geonosis in chats with alliance members who are in this situation. Maybe as new SMs or maybe 5-10 shards per star on the planet or something. Some way to make it so guilds don't have to choose between holding back on rewards by playing old content or not unlocking the characters in a reasonable time frame that isn't detrimental to their income.

I’ll just add in. I am at 5.2 mil, in a guild with 230m. I can confirm that we just skip over LS Geo, and when we do do LS Geo, nobody does anything or doesn’t do well. To be fair, we’re more of a DS focused guild(I and heavy focused on GR, working on LV and JMK). I ONLY have 3 KAM shards. TOTAL. We don’t do well with RotE and people don’t participate enough to full clear EITHER HOTH. Which has always bugged me, but I get it. Some people just don’t like the feeling of doing stuff all the time for the game, but @iMalevolence is right. There should be a much easier method to REASONABLY get KAM and Wat shards. I have Wat at 4* with 53 shards to 5*. We get ON AVERAGE 10 to 13 Wat shards each time we do DS Geo, which is every other DS TB. Sometimes we’ve done RotE instead, but that’s on average. It’s not possible or reasonable to get KAM or Wat shards with GET3 when we don’t get enough of them to do squat. They should not have made LS Geo so difficult as opposed to DS Geo. Even with HIGH RELICS for those battles, it’s almost impossible for some.

To me, part of the issue would seem to be the respective values of KAM and Wat shards in comparison to ROLO and IPD. The GET2 costs of the Hoth TB mission reward units are relatively reasonable, when compared to what else you can buy for GET2. 5 shards of IPD or ROLO cost about the same as 15 kyros at that level. 5 shards of Wat or KAM cost the same as 35 kyros for GET3, a significant difference. That’s also not taking into account the “free” IPD or ROLO shards from galactic bounties. There’s no expectation for a player to find a good Hoth TB guild to catch up on ROLO and IPD (and ROLO is a req for other toons) to get shards for those characters because the alternative purchase methods aren’t prohibitively high in comparison to what else GET2 is used for. There does appear (to me anyway, YMMV) to be less of a balance for KAM and Wat. Id love to see the KAM and Wat missions added somewhere in RotE (and the ROLO and IPD ones too) even if the entry reqs were a bit higher. Alternatively a new bounties event to get another 10 shards once every two months also doesn’t seem a ridiculously easy catch up mechanism, and the idea that players without KAM find a guild still doing GeoLS is just fatuous. Guilds that can get multiple KAM shards regularly just don’t do GeoLS because of how CG have designed that and RotE.

G12 Geos work just fine in my experience. KAM's battle is a whole different beast though.
