Name changing

You can change your name in-game by clicking on the pencil as shown

I do not have that, and I would not hand out your friend code like that since you are a top player

Weird the pencil isn’t there. And why is it a big deal if his ally code is shown? You know there’s an entire section of this forum dedicated to people giving their ally codes out, right?

Do you have the pencil?

You only see the pencil from your own, personal game. You wouldn't see it in someone else's account.

If he doesn't see the pencil in game from the account itself, then he may have joined the game as an underage account, and therefore can not message in the Guild, in Personal Messages, and possibly change his name from a basic one (not certain on this part, but pretty sure).

I don't remember seeing anywhere where you can change it. But I have seen that people who put themselves as underage at 17 in 2016 still have an "underage" account in 2019, even though they are 20 now.

Yep

he doesnt have the pencil as he has an underage account / default name.
he is unable to change his name on an underage account
if you think this is wrong contact customer support and complain to them nobody here can help you change from an underage account to a normal account
