Remember that an enemy needs to be defeated before it can apply deathmark :)

So happy I zetad my maul, I plan on holding off on kren/trooper and putting my resources into mystery sith and possibly Kylo ren

Kylo Ren isn't going to be a sith though, so i don't think he will fit into an empire or sith squad. He will most likely have First Order synergy.
