This is just not true. Your math must be off. Idk where you guys are getting the numbers from? The fact is mods can make a significant difference in character gp. As an example here is my Carth, that I'm preparing for the malak event requiring 17.5k gp. Notice the difference in gp due to modding. Also notice the cost, and you'll see what I'm talking about...
The last two are just from moving regular mods...
