Could there be a possibility that the next meta will shift gradually? Generally, it’s been a straight shift from one faction to the next. However, I seem to feel it may shift gradually over the next 3 months. It’s all but hard confirmed General Anakin is coming. I’d imagine, if he comes, he will light the fire in the 501st that we haven’t quite gotten yet. We literally could have a shared meta again for a few months with Sith Empire and 501st, ultimately sharing and then being displaced by SWTROS faction. It would be nice to have some challenges in Arena again.

It's hard to tell, we saw an opening and short lived diverse meta after zetas came out, only to have it shot dead and buried by the next meta....I feel like that is what we are seeing here....Also, it doesnt seem to be all that confirmed, I mean we have had actual hints of the malevolence and still nothing.....

I agree that we do seem to be in a bit more diverse now. Perhaps kyno is right, that it will be short lived, just like that period when zetas came out. However, I will hope that perhaps they truly do want a more diverse meta. Theory crafting is such a fun component of the game. Going back to some of CG Carrie's posts, it was clear they had more in store for the clones coming. Nesting dolls is how I think she described it. Right now, Shaak ti is subbing in a leader for the 501st. And let's say we do get an Anakin ...general Anakin. What becomes of Shaak ti? What about CC Cody? In the trailer for the new Clone wars season, he is seen taking lead of the bad batch. As I mentioned in another post, the wording on 5's zeta is enough to make me curious about some sort of clone healer. Could we be getting more clones? Who knows? What if they did just leave it as is? What I'm getting at is that maybe, just maybe we might get some good diversity if they can find a way to mesh all these powerful characters, at relic level 7 we might be able sustain the diversity a little while longer. Which, I'm all for. I actually like losing to a Padmae team, or a Rex team, GG team. It's been fun lately in arena. I've been trying all sorts of combos. I'm with the op, let's keep it diverse!

Are you saying that the super amazing secret you couldn't tell us about doesn't involve a meta shift?

Honestly I think they are going to find it hard shifting the meta from Darth Revan. Everyone seems to just assume the meta shifts after a while, and that CG are totally in control of that. But they have to actually create something that can beat DR while having a semblance of balance in this game. DR is a monster team, team-wide fear, boosted speed, every debuff, huge damage, malak. The revans really took the power of kits in this game out of control, and I really wouldn’t be surprised if they can’t find a way to make a team that is somewhat on par with the game as a whole and yet beats DR

Pretty sure whichever way the meta shifts from now will be short lived. Episode 9 around the corner is telling me to save whatever I have till then.

Honestly I think they are going to find it hard shifting the meta from Darth Revan. Everyone seems to just assume the meta shifts after a while, and that CG are totally in control of that. Next patch: Both Revans and Malak are nerfed. Diversity is forcefully brought back into the meta.

There are already teams that can beat DR.

The same "there is no way they can introduce a new team" argument was made when traya was meta and again with JKR. They have since then introduced teams that can beat them and introduced counter teams. So yes they can find a way (since they did) and they will again.

There are some simple ways they could counter most of what a DR team is without any issues. Just need a little creativity.

^^ this. Also DR has a little Achilles heel attached to it. Where JKR and co. didnt.
JKR was a direct counter to traya and dr a direct counter to JKR. They will always produce something that counters the last.
