"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."
"To each his own."
"One man's trash is another man's treasure."
All these and so many other sayings all point to one thing. Just because one person likes or dislikes something, that doesn't mean everyone else is obligated to feel the same way. You could even take it a step further. Just because most people enjoy or hate something, it doesn't mean you have to as well. Personal example, a lot of people I know enjoy football matches, while I get bored to death just listening about it. In this case, if you and most other people hate The Acolyte, alright. But it isn't a crime if other people enjoy or are at least neutral about it.
In any case, as to your initial question, it's also a matter of behavior. Again, there's nothing wrong in hating the show. It just gets frustrating when people start acting, as I said in my previous comment, worse than 5 year olds. The OP doesn't like Acolyte? Fine. They have every right to decide for themselves what they like, what they don't, and why. Most importantly, they decide how to react to the topic. Threatening to quit the game if even one character is released is indeed over the top. And just look at the myriad of videos and comments about Acolyte, or most of the more recent shows for that matter. 9/10 of them are nothing more than childish tantrums from what could and often should be level-headed, reasonable human beings. Only in the 10th case do you find people, be it in the comments or the actual videos themselves, who aren't fond of the show while still acting maturely and giving clear, well-constructed reasons for it.
