The developer’s failure to properly test the game and a player’s responsibility for knowingly exploiting a bug are two separate issues.
If someone simply used the characters and Datacrons available to them and triggered the problem by accident, then it would be difficult to blame the player. However, if they knew the interaction made the team effectively unbeatable and continued using it for days to hold their rank or gain an advantage in competitive modes, then that goes beyond normal gameplay and becomes intentional bug exploitation.
The fact that CG previously mishandled the Darth Vader Datacron fix by deleting Datacrons or incorrectly distributing materials does not justify exploiting the current issue. That is a separate criticism of the developer’s handling of the problem. A developer making a mistake does not give players the right to knowingly abuse that mistake for their own benefit.
CG should fix the bug quickly and compensate affected players, but it should also take appropriate action against accounts that knowingly and repeatedly used the exploit to gain an unfair advantage.
