Order 66 raid is trash

It was like this until the Krayt Dragon raid, where CG then decided to only allow certain units that were relevant to the lore.

Source? There have been units irrelevant to the lore from the Krayt Dragon days onwards. 

The only Jedi present during the Battle of Naboo were Qui Gon and Obi Wan.

Hera, Ackbar, Lando (not an exhaustive list) had no relevance to the Speeder Bike Raid. 

Maul, T3, Carth (again not exhaustive) had no relevance to Krayt Dragon. 

I think complaints about lore-relevance are well-founded, but it’s off the mark to suggest that this is new for the O66 raid. 

Most complaints about the new raid model aren’t lore-relevance related though. They’re mostly from people who want equivalent rewards without any additional resource investment. 

Hey dude, it's no skin off my back if you refuse to post a decent score and thus hold your guild back. The more people complain and not build raid teams, the bigger my advantage when I match with them in GAC or their guilds in TW. Please have the same attitude towards datacrons, that's helpful too. 🤣

Complaints about Pirates (being raid units or just... existing in the game) are fairly common on the forums. 

I do think it's silly to expect every single update for a game running for 10 years to be a bullseye crowd pleaser + some part of the playerbase will just complain about every update no matter what it is, and I'm certainly guilty of cynically pre-judging any thread complaining about Pirates that I open. This one's no different. "Ree, Pirates aren't thematically perfect for Order 66, reee". Yawn. I've seen a dozen threads like it and I've lost the ability to sympathize with people who, over the last 3 years, still haven't wrapped their heads around the current raid format: uses some recent units, build them up if you want to put up a decent raid score. 

 Like you said, it's just people who want to be able to score huge in the raid without investing resources into new characters because they can't be immediately max stars, because they will be single drop rate for a year, because they need high relics, because they need zetas and mods as opposed to all the characters a player already has geared up and modded. It's always the same empty complaints with the same shallow sentiment behind them. 

Hera, Ackbar and Lando were all present during the battle of Endor, so they make a fair amount of sense for an Endor raid. On that subject, I seem to remember CG saying something about not having Vader and Palps because the capes interacted weirdly, but Gideon has a cape and he's just fine? Just a side thought from me

Personally I find this raid fun. 

They reused a bunch of toons from last raid, giving FTP folks a head start. It's also a sub-faction of Jedi, which are among the most popular factions in the game, so even folks who didn't focus on the last raid have some kind of start on them. 

Jedi, Bad Batch, and Ithano-led Pirates do well at mid-tiers. 

Tarkin + 4 DS clones do fine in mid tiers, and the only reason that isn't getting more attention is because the value per relic tier is sky high when you can take only 2 toons to r9 and get 3.6M. 

So you start with Jedi, add Bad Batch (since they were released earlier), and hopefully you have Jocasta from Conquest - which any account with 6-7Mgp could do right now. Those 2 teams get you 1.8M and 1.2M respectively, so if you've been gold-crating conquest you should easily have 3M there, and then a couple of 300k teams. If you are a newer account that paid to accelerate your development, you might struggle with mods for BB, but also maybe not. 

At the moment you'd be working on DS clones, making sure that they're all 5-star. Put them all together w Tarkin whom you should have at r7 already and that's another 900k. 

Maybe smaller accounts don't have the new Pirates at 5-stars, but ... isn't it nice to have something to look forward to? With the raid lasting 12-13months and good toons like Maz Kanata, GL Hondo, and the Marquee pirates, you can build towards a GL at the same time you're building towards the raid and see progress over time. 

And I hate to remind some folks, but a raid that is the same week after week gets very stale. Progress over time is a good thing. 

Smart players with medium size accounts who understand the importance of Conquest, gold crate to make sure they get unlocks in 6 months or less, and who farm new toons as soon as they're available should already be scoring over 3M and can progressively grow their score to 9M using only the teams we know are coming, and without a single r8 or r9 toon. 

Again, I have some disagreements with their approach, but overall I think they did well. Whales are already getting 18M and will do so for 10 months or a touch more. End game FTP accounts like DarjeloSalas​ and myself are doing fine and getting better, and even medium-sized accounts have opportunities to put up scores that, if average for their guild, will get them 4,000 Mk3 Raid Tokens now, and over 5,000 tokens in a few more weeks or months. 

I understand that some ppl are struggling, but I have 12-13M accts in my guild who are struggling, and what we're doing is offering them roster & mod reviews and help creating a plan so that within a few weeks they can be hitting a lot harder. 

I used to do free acct reviews on the forums all the time, and I don't want to be as busy doing that as I was, but if you're in this thread, and you're frustrated with how you're doing, I'm even happy to do for 5-10 of you what I do for my guild mates. You might just find the raid is better than you think. 

They added a cape to JKL for the Endor raid. That was some facepalm bs corpo-speak.

If CG don't want us to use certain units in a raid, just freaking say so, I ain't gonna be mad, I know that they want to incentivize players to invest resources into new characters, I understand that, I'm not a child. 

They changed his model if he's in the raid? That's news to me

I think that the idea is solid, but the fact that you can’t use jedis like Yoda and Kenobi but you can use PIRATES from around episode 7 makes me want to smash my phone with a hammer. If CG made the characters make more sense, it would we a great raid 

The only thing I don't like is that it required a lot of new toons to run (for the best scores)

BUT

You can run Tarkin/Scorch 2-man for the best bang-for-your-buck score I've ever seen in a raid, and everyone's got Tarkin. Now you can run toons that aren't even 7*, so even if you're farming Scorch, you can get 300k easily. Then it goes up. 

Yeah, it does take some insane speed modding later in the difficult tiers, but that'll never go away.

This is also the easiest raid to determine if your run is going to go well or not in. You can tell in wave 1 if it's gonna go well. The Naboo raid was awful - you could spend 10 minutes trying to get perfect rng, and then have the last wave screw it all up and restart.

Nest can solo for 300k, so there's 600k easily with 2 existing toons and 1 farmable one.

As a guild leader, I'm trying to find the best combos for my people, and there are some ways to get score.

Anyone who was hitting in the Naboo raid should be getting 900k on this raid just to start. Most of your Jedi are reusable. Without Kelleran Beq you'd be limited to 300k, but you could do that with 2 different groups of junk Jedi. 

Then Tarkin solos the 300k tier, and if you were hitting the last featured raid I know you have relic Tarkin. 

Then, of course Nest and Hondo can each solo it. While you're not guaranteed to have those if you were hitting Naboo, the vast majority of folks hitting Naboo did have those 2 toons. 

That's 1.5M before you even start farming DS clones, pirates, nu BadBatch and Depa/JTG. Meanwhile it's easily possible to have a full BB squad now, and you should definitely have them all at 5-stars, which allows you r3. Replace one of your 300k runs with a 900k+ run using BadBatch (min r3) and you have a minimum of 2.1M. 

If you were hitting Naboo for a couple million 2/3 months ago, then you're either hitting Order 66 for a couple million or you haven't even been trying to work on your raid squads.
