P3 Lightsaber Request With Chex Mix In Mind.

Can we please make a change to the lightsaber mechanic so that the Chex Mix team is less time consuming. Anyone that runs the team will know the level of RNG required to make a sucessful run and everyone fighting for more damage won't accept a run where they don't pass all RNG points that make the team work. Sadly you can still pass all the initial RNG checks and even have tenacity up on Han as he stands alone but it will get completely derailed if the sabers switch to have foresight as this dispells and then applies ability block, typically the next saber will then have retribution and inflict daze so you start over.

My suggestion therefore is for the saber with the foresight buff to no longer dispell all buffs and to just deal ability block. This will reduce the time it takes to get the Chex Mix team going significantly without making the raid that much easier as the end damage will be the same. For the players there would still be a number of RNG points to pass but if you get tenacity up on Han you would be more confident with your score.

I know the counter arguements will be that this will make P3 too easy and the Chex Mix too easy I don't think it will as the majority of guilds completing heroic will be using this team anyway and players will always restart their battle if the RNG goes against them so ultimately they will end up retrying over and over until they get that 4-5% run so why not remove the unnecessary mechanic that derails the perfect set up and help reduce the time spent restarting over and over.
Ultimately that would still leave a lot of RNG in the team but you are more likely to make it through and get the damage percentage you know your team can get if you survive the initial RNG points and come out with tenacity up on Han for stand alone.

    Just to clarify this was a heroic run so just over 6.5% or so and it took about 100 odd tries to do so for all the RNG stars to align and to not be dispelled at any point. It's not something I will be doing again because it is far too time consuming and frustrating, I could have stopped way earlier and hit like 3-4% and my guild would have still been on track to complete the phase but I knew the dispells were holding me back or just knew in general my team could do more.

    Please consider the change, not so that 6% scores become more common because there was still a lot of luck involved there but to at least make getting to 4% a little less RNG based.
  • Why would they change the raid so your team works better? That doesn't make any sense.
  • It doesn't make the team any stronger it makes it less time consuming to set up.
    I know it will never be changed and in fact is probably there by design but the whole phase is so RNG based that until a team that can do +2% with just raw damage and topples this Chex Mix team will be the one used to clear the phase for all heroic guilds and therefore the phase will always be a time sink and take a lot of the fun out of what is a pretty clever team.

    I would love to be proved wrong but I believe this mechanic with dispel and ability block all in one makes all buff dependant teams irrelevant in P3.
    The only other way around the time sink I can think of is to require all 50 guild members to have this team so that it's a shared frustration and 50 people will manage to beat the RNG quicker than 20-30 people will.
  • This is a crazy request. Because I'm sure the developers weren't thinking "hey for p3 CLS, raid han, chirrut, pao and Death trooper are going to kick Butt, but let's make it incredibly tedious to achieve it"
    Why ask for handouts? Settle for 3-4% or spend the time for that extra 1-2%

  • Spending the extra time gets you 3-4%, spending insane amount of time gets the extra 1-2%.
    What my suggestion would do is make the 3-4% more of a norm and 6% still time consuming.

    Even if you put the Chex Mix team to the side I don't see there ever being a reliable team for P3 because of how much RNG there is and the fact you can just be derailed of good progress by dispel and ability block all in one. The sabers switch their buffs all the time so you could tactically leave one knowing it won't dispel you and focus on Traya but as soon as she gets a turn the saber will change it's buff and be on more TM and ruin your run just like that. As I said before I would love to be proved wrong here.

    It probably isn't the best suggestion and would like other ideas because the number of RNG checks in P3 and even P1 and P4 is just obscene and makes for boring and time consuming content.
  • I Doubt you will get much sympathy about time taken to achieve a top score for a run in heroic str ,
