That's what I've been saying. Just openly use the community for play testing and do right by the community in the process. Maybe even give a small bonus (gear, energy, crystals, whatever), at the conclusion of the testing window as a thank you gesture. It's quite literally the easiest and simplest solution, that invokes NO extra work on CG's behalf, other than being decent human beings."scuba;c-2416464" wrote:
What they need to do is just admit that every new change (omi, new unit, unit adjustment etc) is going to be beta tested by the players for 2-4 weeks and at the end of that if a change is made to any of it than the player unit will be reverted back to where it was at the start.
Without a real beta program, again because players keep breaking the NDA, use the player base like they are just be open and upfront about it and let there be no penalty for doing it to the players.
They tried this... A bunch of the YouTubers you watch today used to have "Test Accounts" where they could literally apply any level of gear and relics they wanted as well as all zetas etc (don't remember if Omicrons were out then)....
Negative Ghost rider...
I am saying officially use the entire player base as the beta test program as they are now, not a few select "useless" players.
If they did this and said after x weeks, "if we tweak the unit or ability players would get the unit reverted back", players for the most part would have no real issues with testing this way knowing they get all the stuff back if a change is made.
Right now the first part is happening (using entire player base as beta testers), the last part (reverting/refunding) is a hit and miss/maybe happen.
This ^ ?- bargeek13Rising Newcomeras the OP stated - we waited for the update notes after a tw - there was no mention of it, several people applied it - then a mysterious edit over an hour and a half later - adds the addition of the poggle nerf to the update notes.
Sure they said they were looking at it, but if you release something - and later discover you are going to heavily reduce its value - a refund for the costliest resource in the game would go along way.
Other wise are we to adopt a strategy of waiting 3 months to apply an omicron to be "safe" from a stealth nerf down the road? That's a terrible precedent to set YET it keeps happening.
Some level of communication or stipulation should be in place. Is that not a reasonable course of action? "MaricSkywalker;c-2416689" wrote:

I'm not saying we should need to do that but when it comes to TW and GAC omicrons, I always wait - no matter how good it looks. Once is an accident twice is a coincidence three times is a pattern. It's an unfortunate pattern and one that should be corrected, but it's how things have been going for a while now. CG has this great vehicle to generate buzz and create a perception of 'need' with these omicrons and they've effectively made people afraid to engage for fear of not ultimately getting what the thought they would and have generally been content to let it be a 'buyer beware' scenario for these abilities.
It's so easy to fix too. If you change it - even if it was a bug fix to correct unintended behavior - just refund it. It costs nothing to do, and people would never again hesitate to apply another omicron.
For me though - I hold back specifically because I'd rather not deal with the fiasco of having the ability devalued AFTER spending resources on it. Also it gives the early adopters and whales a chance to evaluate it and report back before I roll the dice on it.- This is ridiculous. I assumed the "issue" with poggle omicron was it working in squad and conquest not a balance problem. To nerf without refunding is terrible.

That was a month ago... If you are just finding out about it now, I am going to go out on a limb and say it likely didn't affect you too much :)
Thanks for being so condescending. You are a real credit to the community.
I knew about it the entire time I just still had hope they would refund until now.- ccmooseRising NoviceIf it's great and not impacting those that applied it too much, refund it and let them reapply it. But, since we live in reality...
OP, learn your lesson. CG is stingy AF about refunds and does not test omis well. Don't apply any that seem this good to otherwise bad teams unless a couple months have passed with no word from CG. - Kluge1971New Spectatorwhy this continues to surprise anyone is the real question to be asked...

Why are you complaining about a lack of refund on an Omicron you don't even have?
We just called for it and waited for the update notes if they included anything like a better Omicron coming out. I don't have it right now because my Trench got 3 for testing purposes- sigsig3131New RookieI think the only reason they refunded traya is because they took so long to send out a message about it. Poggle they had a message out within a day or so.
- Also, oGeos can still be countered by sith even in TW, if you have oSidious as the fifth that is. No need to use a GL
