Except, they haven't done that with Starkiller.
They haven't done it with Juhani.
They haven't done it with Malgus.
They haven't done it with Talon.
Any others I'm missing?
And they refunded Traya.
We should, however, always be prepared for CG to be completely capricious in every aspect of their interaction with the community, so, while it's always disappointing, it's never unexpected."Ragnarok_COTF;c-2415562" wrote:
I think CG has shown that any omi that enables a team to beat GLs should only be applied if you are willing for it to later be disabled vs/with GL squads.
I didn't say they always do it. Based on your last paragraph, we appear to be in agreement. - EnigmaPotatoes3 years agoSeasoned Ace

I just don’t agree with the ‘players should know by now’ sentiment. They give us rules text, we buy the product based on that, then they change it. Either they do it intentionally, to bait and switch to cause people to spend on otherwise uses upgrades, or they are incompetent in their testing and it’s their fault for not testing the product. Any other company that releases faulty products has to reimburse those damaged by said products. CG shouldn’t get a pass regardless of intent or incompetence.
Somewhat fair, but at the same time, Did you invest in it with beating GL's in mind?.... Becasue that is literally the only change....
Yes a ton of guilds recommended this Omi since Poggle was rolling Rey easy
And none of these guilds knew that every single GL beating Omi got nerfed historically?....
Like Wampa soloing certain SEE comps?
Like Dash beating JML?
Like Phasma beating several GLs?
(just to name a few)
Ok
Shush. Don't mention Dash. He is fine. It is definitely not consistent and I don't want anyone to look at it.
Move Along, nothing to nerf here. - theXrono3 years agoSeasoned Ace

I think it's a good change, tbh. Everyone runs a wall of Geos in TW. It's unrealistic to expect them to counter GLs. And if someone is willing to run a GL against Geos then it has served its purpose, no?
2020 called, they want their TW wall back,,,,,
Top end guilds may not need them so much, but I'm fairly sure MAW used Geos after the omicron landed.- sloweagle03 years agoRising VeteranHigh end Geos have long be a decent clean up team against weaken Rey, so with an omi on, it is not inconceivable that it can beat some Rey combo. I am pretty sure there is also some Rey combo that is not easily beatable even without the nerf. So the argument it wasn’t intended without clearly stated so is not a good argument.
In term of the investigation on this omi after it is released, I don’t think CG stated clearly that beating GL is unintended. The omi had other clearly unintended behavior as it is active in squad arena too, not just in TW. So CG’s message was thought to address that bug. Again, it is just CG incompetence without sufficiently testing. "BubbaFett;c-2416214" wrote:

Again, I highly doubt that CG would want to have an old team everyone has counter a GL with just the addition of an omicron and, given the amount of time and resources it takes to farm a GL, nor should they....
They should definitely test their stuff better before release, I can agree with that and could even agree on possibly refunding the mats as they did for Traya... But I also think players who thought they would let GEOS stand as a GL counter were naiive at best...
Once again you've stumbled on the wrong way of looking at things. So the players are naive - (apparently). It's CG that develop Omicrons - presumably test them and release them into the game.
But it's 'naive' on behalf of the players to think CG had actually considered certain interactions during development. Therefore players should just always expect CG screwed up - and therefore expect a nerf.
Yep, that's a player issue right there. No onus on the developers.
.....- scuba753 years agoLegendWell if some of the "players" didn't run their mouth when they shouldn't have, there would probably still be a beta program to play test comps and find some of this out early.
Instead we are left with what we got.
There are comments all the time that CG doesn't know how to play the game and than expectations that properly balance test units/teams.
They need a beta program to test for things like this yet seems ever time someone has to go leak stuff and get it all shutdown. "BubbaFett;c-2416242" wrote:

Try reading everything I posted, or are the cracks in your phone screen blocking stuff again?
I clearly said CG should have tested their stuff before release... And yes, I still think any player that really thought a years old team that everyone has would be allowed to consistenly beat a GL with just an Omicron is naiive...
Still ignoring Phasma, huh?"BubbaFett;c-2416259" wrote:

Absolutely.... I couldn't have said it better.....
I still think they could do a better job, but that being said, How does an army of a few compete against millions when it come sto all of these interactions?....
Most bugs/interactions are easily found/seen by simply throwing it into the battle 1 time and see it play out - something like the Merrin animation bug is seen immediately but obviously they dont care anymore about stuff being released bugged. And while some bugs/interactions are more complex and difficult to discover where I agree with your point that a mass of ppl will have an easier time spotting those things, the other stuff (Exe release, oQGJ, oTraya, oPoggle, etc.) only takes 5min of playtesting."BubbaFett;c-2416256" wrote:

So basically what I reading is I shouldn't have omi my poggle? Lmao just my luck
Still a great Omi IMOP
For you and your guild maybe. For top guilds the selling point was the GL slaying ability.
