- I may yet apply it - even if a GL negates it, it still seems pretty strong.

Well if some of the "players" didn't run their mouth when they shouldn't have, there would probably still be a beta program to play test comps and find some of this out early.
Instead we are left with what we got.
There are comments all the time that CG doesn't know how to play the game and than expectations that properly balance test units/teams.
They need a beta program to test for things like this yet seems ever time someone has to go leak stuff and get it all shutdown.
Yes they do need a beta program. However this isn’t a niche interaction that snuck under the radar. The constant nerf to omicrons because they beat GL’s is constantly putting egg on CG’s face and their “testing”. You mean to tell me that GL’s are the most meta teams in the game and their testing doesn’t show poggle, or QGJ, or Traya beat GL’s? Come on now.
I agree that if people are in a beta program to honor the NDA (while CG also heeds their feedback like with DC’s), but using the lack of said program as a crutch for their inability for the most basic of testing isn’t gonna work here.
Just saying .....
Players: "CG doesn't know how to play their own game"
Also Players: "CG needs to test team comps more"
Bug testing is/should be also completely separate (and should be) of play testing
Unit has to work as intended/planned/desired before you can really play test comps and viability. - scuba753 years agoLegendWhat they need to do is just admit that every new change (omi, new unit, unit adjustment etc) is going to be beta tested by the players for 2-4 weeks and at the end of that if a change is made to any of it than the player unit will be reverted back to where it was at the start.
Without a real beta program, again because players keep breaking the NDA, use the player base like they are just be open and upfront about it and let there be no penalty for doing it to the players. - KDC99-X3 years agoSeasoned AceThat's what I've been saying. Just openly use the community for play testing and do right by the community in the process. Maybe even give a small bonus (gear, energy, crystals, whatever), at the conclusion of the testing window as a thank you gesture. It's quite literally the easiest and simplest solution, that invokes NO extra work on CG's behalf, other than being decent human beings.

I guess that would be fine, but they’d have to actually stick to refunding the materials.
I just can’t fathom how these changes are made because of performances against GL’s. You literally need to just play test it and see how it works and then you can make a decision and tune it.
QGJ and Poggle specifically. For Traya that one had an actual bug where it ramped up damage too much and beyond what was intended. That’s a bug I can see slipping by and getting adjusted, but then they added in “no dark side GL’s”. Like why? There’s no excuse for that, beta testing or not. They can’t claim they test these things but then are shocked it can take out a GL.
If they don't know how to play the game, then how do the play test it.
Agree something like this would work only if they stuck to returning material on change - KDC99-X3 years agoSeasoned AceI don’t think they were, because it sounds like that predates my account, which is ~2.5 years old (I think), and I was playing before omicrons were introduced.
So what happened?
Btw — I don’t mean setting up test accounts with certain content creators, but rather just putting out the content as they are now, with the understanding that was described regarding testing/material refunds upon adjustment."BubbaFett;c-2416476" wrote:

They tried this... A bunch of the YouTubers you watch today used to have "Test Accounts" where they could literally apply any level of gear and relics they wanted as well as all zetas etc (don't remember if Omicrons were out then).... - ccmoose3 years agoSeasoned Ace

Negative Ghost rider...
I am saying officially use the entire player base as the beta test program as they are now, not a few select "useless" players.
If they did this and said after x weeks, "if we tweak the unit or ability players would get the unit reverted back", players for the most part would have no real issues with testing this way knowing they get all the stuff back if a change is made.
Right now the first part is happening (using entire player base as beta testers), the last part (reverting/refunding) is a hit and miss/maybe happen. "scuba;c-2416548" wrote:

I agree (don't recall disagreeing)....
That being said, it still wouldn't cut down on the complaints....
The more simple solution, if they don't want it to work against a GL, is just to put that in the kit like they did for other kits...
Negative was for the yter, or selected individual having test accouts for testing, that is too controlled and not enough minds in doing it.
Let the game data speak, and all the bragging vids.
