Possible solution to the Raid gear drop problem

So most of us have a big issue with how gear is dropped from the raids.

Don't know if they are even interested in helping with this, but in a lot of other games you get to pick what you are looking to get from a raid.

For example at the end of your first attack in a raid, you get to choose one of the potential gear drops from a list of available ones.

Then when you finish, one of your rewards is always what you are trying to get. Won't always be a full piece and doesn't even have to be the highest amount of gear pieces dropped.

Also, could we please (and this has been mentioned a million times) remove standard gear from the raid drops. Raids are supposed to be special and since some of the gear is 'only' attainable through raids we shouldn't get junk as rewards.

  • This game loves RNG so I doubt EACG will just let us pick specific pieces of gear we need. After all, completing a raid is about as close as we can get to 100% certainty so "time" is the only real variable that determines how often you will get these pre-selected rewards.

    An alternative methodology that may be more palatable for EACG is to let players to "cross off" certain drops from the reward boxes, removing them from the RNG entirely. Maybe 4 or 5 items would be a good number which still leaves around 10 items in the box for the RNG to do its thing.

    It's not a perfect solution but at least it gives the player a small element of control while still maintaining the overall "randomized" nature that this game revolves around.
  • My biggest issue with tank gear is that it's not gated by tank gear it's gated by cuffs. The old gear level 8 quality gear is now being used to gate gear level 11 items.
  • I'd love it if you could pick and then it adds extra modifiers to the raid for you specifically.

    Like if you choose 2 pieces of gear (you would need to place top whatever for full pieces/subject to balancing) you take double damage (or enemies move faster/have higher tenacity/balance).

    It would let higher tier players have more control over what they get from a raid and more exciting because debuffs, and helps lower tier, who choose vanilla, because they take normal mechanics that are easier to score.

    Likely not to happen, but I'd like the system.
  • I would be happy with a new "workbench" area where you can break down the hundreds of pieces of useless gear that nobody and use the materials to create gear you actually do need. Definitely stealing an idea from KOTOR but I thought it was a great feature in that game and would do wonders in this one.

    This. Raid gear hardly ever drops from raids. You have to buy it. I think the raid game experience could improve a lot if you could​ get rare raid gear from the raid. Right now, the only tangible benefit from this twice/thrice a week activity is shards. Once you complete the toon, there the is no incentive to participate.
