I work in QA as well and I can tell you that I would never want my devs talking to anyone. First, many of them are terrible communicators. Second, they usually speak in dev talk which the clients would never understand. Third, they LOVE LOVE LOVE to instantly fix things without the proper steps.
That's fine and I have no problem with it if they have made that decision.
If Jesse and John were posting regularly, as they were at the start, there would be no problem, and nobody would miss the lack of input from other developers.
But the fact that they are not writing much if anything is noticeable. The fact that devs DO post on Reddit and not here, well, that understandably rubs salt in the wounds (metaphorically speaking).

They are choosing, for some unknown reason, not to tell us anything. I am sure that isn't Jesse's decision, but again, his job is to communicate with us.
That's right, it isn't his decision. And if he's been told not to communicate with us, or not provided much in the way of information to communicate, I'm not going to blame him for the lack of communication any more than I blame my waiter when my steak shows up undercooked.
He's just trying to do his job. He doesn't make the decisions.

As far as the topic of we pay his salary. I don't think thats as offensive as you make it has been made out to be.
You have me mixed up with @cosmicturtle333 here. I never said anything about salaries. (Though I generally agree with him that the "we pay your salary" stuff is nonsense.)
