Raid Economy+Skill Squish=Crummy

The basic experience of a game should be that when you achieve progress, you should feel rewarded and happy.

In the past couple weeks I have been relegated in GAC after winning, and then given reduced rewards for raids. Just experientially…outside any rationales or math or conversion rates or screeds about managing resources better…it sucks. It’s the exact opposite of what achievement should feel like. That’s bad game design. And bad community engagement. Plain and simple.

And it’s clear these things are tied together and that the devs have just decided that their primary tool to compensate for lost revenue from a smaller player base is to take away resources to make the smaller remaining pool have to spend more. Fine. They’re a business. Totally get it. But have to think there are some better tools to try to get creative with that won’t leave players feeling like they are losing out after winning.

Relegation after a win or a streak of wins feels bad. That simply shouldn't happen. I don't have a solution for that but I agree that it's not a good player experience. I wish they would fix that somehow.

I mean, I have a (proposed!) solution and its not to shrink the K1 division each season

Seems like when it launched 10% of players were suppose to be in K1 and now the % of active players in K1 is way below that mark

if the intention of K1 was to only have 10% of players, then raise the ceiling back up again to top 10% of the players being in K1

That would fix the K1 issue - but only short term until they changed how the squish works. Adjusting the way the squish works would address the Win->Relegation issue, I think - but I don't know what that looks like and won't pretend to understand the math well enough to propose a solution.

The solution is to put me back in K1.

Oh I see, you are the "I am the protagonist" type, aren't you?

I am the single person, yes.

This is your story and we are just background characters

    That i made up

Oh, that was you? You've got some 'splainin to do...
