CG knows exactly what they are doing. They will roll it out, make a huge mess in all game modes and revert some changes as a kind of “we have listened to the community”. We have been there before.
The issue that they are trying to solve is money income. Apparently the increased frequency of marquees hasn’t quenched their thirst for money and they are looking for new sources.
In a nutshell:
Do we need this change? No.
Does CG care? No.
Will it backfire on CG? As much as I hope it will, I am afraid that the answer is no.
The only chance would be if the big spenders in K1 would not support this new money grab, but you can rest assured that they will be the very first ones using their credit cards to stay up there.
