For the sake of conversation, I would say this makes sense, I can totally see based on the extreme backlash and controversy this has caused, between players on the forums and the "trusted" YouTube content creators that were deemed worthy to test play this beta, they sneak some level of RD into the game to "soften the blow" then it's "see, now that wasn't to bad, was it?".

It may do, if the OP came with exact examples of before and after (the supposed change) battles with exact relic level differences, results and damage before and after damage results.
Instead of 'I won this battle before, but lost this time with a datacron'. I'd also wonder from the legality point on whether they could/should do that. Certainly, from a trust and 'should' it would be a bad idea.
Personally, (from a person that uses a lot of off-meta and tends to be the underdog) I haven't noticed anything to make me suspicious.
