It's not that strategy is dead, it's that punch ups have been, for the most part, nullified. That's my one proper gripe with RD at the moment, and I'm still not entirely clear on why you say relic levels are now easier to obtain.
I'm afraid both sides have a point here - the people who spend can now just spend and safely hide behind the relic wall, while you're also correct that more focus must now be put on adding more relics to your own roster. That does divide the F2P from the whales a little more than it did before.
