I haven't spend a dime on the game and I'm half way to my second zeta ability. I spend every single ship arena token on zeta. Other F2P in my guild focused on unlocking the zeta challenge and have recently accomplished that. If you don't have a zeta yet and aren't close on the challenges, it just means that you chose not to focus on obtaining them.
