Lol, it's not Star Wars without the cool names/puns/whatnot. Fat guy is called Porkins, evil guy is Sideous. BB8 is a pair of robot balls shaped like an 8.

BB-8 got his name because one of the guys making the movie was a huge Beastie Boys fan and they have 8 albums, therefore BB-8.
