You're absolutely right RNG isn't gameplay, it's the lottery YOU have to put up with when YOUR toons aren't geared sufficiently to do the job...

I can say this because I got my 7* Thrawn last night, I also got CLS and R2, all of whom as an F2P player I couldnt have a squad of over geared toons that make those events a cake walk. I knew I was walking the tightrope gear wise, and so I just took it as time to practice and learn toons I would never choose to use in fights. Thanks to my endeavours to get ready for the Thrawn event I have a squad that is capable of 5/6 or 6/6 in a TB combat mission that I never would have had without the Thrawn event. I did research on here finding out the best tactics to try and also what mods I should be sticking on my toons.

I realise it's very frustrating but these toons shouldn't be a gimme, they're too good. You should have to really work to get them. That work consists of Gear & Time, how much you put in of one directly effects how much of the other you need to put in. The time element can be broken down into 3 parts too. 1 - time learning how to use Phoenix in combat. 2 - time researching how to beat the Thrawn Event. 3 - time spent trying the event. Again the more time you spend on one of those elements the the less you have to spend on the rest of them.

I did with G10 Ezra, and G8 everyone else using Chopper because I liked his dispel and the extra survivability he offered.

The feeling of achievement was huge and exactly what I expect given the gear/farm and time I put into getting that bad boy!

Go have another try. And another. And another. Because I'm willing to bet you haven't invested enough of your gear and time elsewhere. So RNG it will have to be for you. I wish you luck!

Or you know, get better and stop blaming RNG for your own shortcomings. There’s always that as an option, too.

I really don't disagree with you here. I think there would be a lot less frustration for people if they didn't hear about how people have beaten the event with G7 and G8 toons. I would have prepped a lot better, but I kept hearing that Thrawn was easily beaten at low gear levels. I thought "meh, no real pressure to upgrade gear then, especially since they all need hairdryers and carbantis".

My real frustration comes from the fact that I assumed I could beat it with G9, G8 and G7 toons, which was bad advice (doing this at G8 really IS an RNG thing). Now for my mistake, I must wait another six months. That's what is really ticking me off. I think it was better that I spent my time gearing up for CLS, which is what I did, but I am now going to be facing off against more opponents in Arena with a kickazz player named Thrawn that I made a mistake about. It's going to be salt in the wounds.

Yeah, it's my fault, but dammit if it isn't something beyond annoying...

I feel your frustration, but fear not, there won’t be many guys in your shard that get him AND then have enough resources to make him Arena viable immediately by which time your CLS gamble might well have paid off!

May the force be with you! Oh and for gods sake don’t give up on Thrawn, keep trying everyday it’s open... RNG might just give you the buff you need!

Yep, RNG! Go figure!

Preparing Phoenix took me tens of millions credits, thousands of cristale, hundreds of gear and being considered unprepared is just wrong.

If it truly was RNG, then you should be happy--just set the thing to autobattle and check back in 5 minutes to see if you need to restart or if you're done. Eventually, because it's pure RNG, you'll get it.

But it's not. People who are having a hard time despite huge amounts of gear and mods are using the wrong team. They're folks who can't figure out that PvE events aren't Arena.

Please tell me how is not NRG when with good mods and high gear you need "good NRG" to complete the event! Repeating the same strategy a couple of times till you get "good NRG" is the new thing from some members of the game community. Is like you need good NRG in adding 2+2 to get 4.
