Secondary speed stats on mods

This is a question for those who have lots of speed on mods (10+ secondary stats)for arena. Do you use refreshes on mod challenges? If so how many refreshes per day? Or do you buy them with crystals...

I am struggling to stay top 20 in arena and would really like to push top 10, but the speed of my characters needs improvement. At the moment I'm having no luck with mod challenges at all. Any help would be great thanks.
