Sim HSTR?

Datacrons should speed up the solo times ?

Ás one of the only five I'm my guild that solos once a week, I'm not looking forward to the drop in rewards from simming.

Most people forget they promised we could sim this raid “soon” almost a full year ago.

Not a peep since.

If they do we will all get 11-15 rewards which would mean we wouldn’t sim

Won't matter. We have a guild policy that says minimum 30 mins until you can post a solo score and lock the raid. :)

Who is 'we' ?

11-15 rewards would be better for 35 players and worse for 10. What kind of asocial 'we' would not sim under those circumstances?

For a top-end guild, the top 15 rewards are not significantly advantageous. For the rest of us, who are still growing, the gap between 1st and 15th is huge downturn vs 15th and 50th. The raid gets finished quickly enough either way, but if I want those extra rewards, I play. Everyone else can just sit around and wait to get paid as if it had been simmed, not a big time gap.

We took the same approach with HAAT; better that some get great rewards and most get middling rewards rather than everyone get middling rewards. Look at it from the whole guild perspective, how many more shards and fully-crafted gear pieces are you getting across the full rewards menu, instead of an average shard reward and mid-level salvage gear pieces??

We don't sim any of the raids. If someone wants max rewards, they are there for the taking. If just one member wants to run the raid, having them on sim keeps them from playing that part of the game. We still have people that enjoy the raids even though 99% of the guild can easily solo all of them. Everyone else plays the 0 damage lotto and doesn't have to lift a finger. It works out fine. We are a casual guild and not everyone has the same level of ambition - those that want it badly should have a shot at it. Those that don't care about the rewards... Still get paid. Works out fine.

The day any of those raids goes more than an hour from launch to completion is the day we'll start talking about putting them on sim.

That being said - having the option to sim is something that I value as a guild leader - if that's what my guild mates want to do, that's what we'll do.

So the Math has been done on HAAT and Rancor raids several times great! This I know and we are using the SIM on those.

I am unaware of this being done for the HSR please can you add a link so I can check the basic maths and make an informed decision please?

Please don't troll: the argument is that they purposely set up HAAT & Pit so that simming is a net gain for the guild, and that therefore if they ever bother to set up HSTR to be simmable, they will set it up in such a way that the rewards once again penalize anyone who consistently comes in top10, but is nonetheless a net gain for the guild.

The argument is that CG didn't set the prior rewards by accident and that we can infer a policy choice from the two data points of HAAT & Pit.

Now you can argue (for whatever reason) that there is no policy at CG to make a simmed raid provide a net benefit to guilds and that the previous outcomes were a coincidence, but asking for the math on the HSTR sim rewards is disingenuous.

IIRC there was even a post to the effect that they intended for sims to benefit the guild as a whole, which would render any argument you make to the contrary about future HSTR sims irrelevant and ineffective. But hey, my memory could be wrong. If you want to contribute to the conversation, just make an argument about why you think that HSTR reward structures would be different post-sim implementation than HAAT & Pit reward structures. If it's plausible, it might even be worth it for me to hunt down that earlier post about simmed rewards and CG's intent that it provide a net benefit.
