Considering they've made a character distinct from TOR Sith Trooper, are we getting the KOTOR version anytime soon? I don't think they'd waste dev time just to make a one-off enemy with different mech...

Probably not. Look at the first order events, fo flame trooper, riot control trooper, etc. There's plenty of characters made for one event.
