My tinfoil hat theory is it's actually more about how NS are performing vs Leia in their internal testing.

And they're just using Jabba as the excuse.

I just want to know more about how to turn my to-dos into ta-das.

CG created a problem years ago with "weak zombie", fixed it, then brought it right back with Merrin. But they're surprised the weak zombie concept is doing so well? Even though it's really not, as usually you just clear the other team members leaving a solo Jabba.

So then you what's the issue if that counter is nerfed because it had an awful win rate to begin with

Because nerf could touch team performance against other teams. Plus one of the hype was the part that Merrin can kill full Jabba team. It forced me to whale to get her in first month on my girlfriend’s account. Now what, what sort of nerf it should be?

Did you read his post? He explicitly said the reason he whaled was to beat GL's, so I suspect he would be particularly upset if that were the nerf.

Also, unless there really is a team that is reliably beating Jabba, I don't understand why they care. They have never cared before about two shots or unreliable counters.

They probably care because of how low gear the NS can be and still beat Jabba outright, or give an easy two shot.

And how many times has that actually happened? As I said, they have never before cared about unreliable counters or two shots.

Just give Merrin's abilities relic requirement and call it a day...

Pretty consistently with under-reliced teams. It works a bit better if half the team is sub relics than it does with a full relic team. They’re fairly consistent (if slow) about addressing that kind of issue.
