It doesnt, i just did it with r7 ig11 and r7 bando. Trick is to put defence and health mods on bando to survive (around 60-70% defence at least). Timing damage immunity along with phase 1 and 3 special is crucial.

I tried tier 1 at least 20 times with a R7 Kelleran Beq (295 speed, 147k protection, both zetas) and came not even close to winning. Other players had the same problem, as you can see.
So it's not a question of modding or gameplay. Before the update, several of my guildmates managed to do it with worse stats.
And you can't actually do much else than first attacking the veteran and afterwards the clone captain - that's how it's supposed to work.

It really is a a question of modding, dont care what you think you know, me and another guildee activated her on the same day using the same strategy, I could help but i think your so opinionated that you think CG is out to get you. If you cant get by tier 1 id love to see you with tier 3

I’m actually curious on your modding. Did you use any of the influencers for suggestions on turn order etc. like beaver or amazing? Or, did you theory craft yourself

get him faster, im thinking 315 to 330 etd, it will be close but you will get by it. The protection you have i think is enough, get him going more, its a scrape through but then tier 2 is easy, tier 3 is a practiced event where you will have to go through a routine, and then repeat it until rng works

It shows, that at least for me tier 1 is not doable with an R7 Kelleran, as you need crazy good mods on him.
Kelleran has a base speed of just 160. To bring him to around 325 means to add +165 extra speed. This is huge. For that, you need a total of 6 speed and health mods with +25 speed on average. The bigger problem is, that 4 of these mods (arrow, triangle, circle, cross) must also have protection primaries in order to bring him to around 140k protection.
That's the point, where I have to give up. I'm not an endgame player with a big collection of top mods, from which I can pick and choose whatever I need. I have to work with what I have and this is apparantly not enough in this case. I could bring Kelleran EITHER to around 325 speed OR to 140k protection - both at the same time is just not possible.
So it seems, the only way to make this tier work is to level Kelleran up to R8 or even R9 to increase his damage, his CC and also to add a bit more protection via health.
At least now I know that I don't have to start any more attempts at the current level until I can give Kelleran the stats he needs for completing.
This is not really satisfying, but at least it saves me a lot of time...

What was your ratio of defense to heath mods? 2 def 4 health or vice versa and all heath circle, plus and triangle?
