Do you enjoy doing two arena climbs every day? Moving crystals out of SA for CG meant that players could no longer rely on a single squad for the majority of their crystal income. But for the players it meant that it was no longer necessary to do two arena climbs every day to maximize their rewards. This was a time consuming practice and tethered you to your phone every day at the same time simply to climb.
For a long time we all just accepted that that's the way it was going to be - then CG changed it (made it 'lame') and gave us all back at least an hour of our day every day. That's clearly a good thing. Improving the rewards in SA would be dangerous - if they made them too good, people would feel compelled to go back to that and there are lots of players, myself included, who would much prefer not to. This was always one of the least appealing aspects of this game and I'm glad they've done away with it. With just one climb now (fleet arena) I can get that done in 15-30 minutes on most days and I'm quite happy with that.
