Steadfast Retribution in Conquest

So, I filed a bug report, or at least I tried to, during the last Conquest, but maybe I'm wrong about thinsg and it's actually working fine. But when I face a Padme team in Conquest on Hard Mode, the modifier says that they deal damage back to my characters whenever I deal damage to them. The thing is, my characters take damage even when they use a non-damaging move. Trying to take them out with Sith Eternal Emperor tends to fail because using his ultimate - which doesn't do damage last I checked - ends up cutting his HP down to a sliver of red.

Am I misunderstanding how things work? Is this just on my end? Or is this a bug that they chose not to fix for some reason?

I had this happen as well, and I assumed it was from the "Amplify Agony" data disk. Using the ult inflicts a locked Deceived debuff which does in fact damage the enemy team with the AA data disk. I tested using the ult without that disk on and I didn't take damage.
  • Ult SEEs special destroys the linked toons but then will damage any others. It’s the damage to the others which is reflected back. I’ve done this a bunch of times myself and find the best approach is to make sure JKA is linked so doesn’t trigger a bonus turn, and just hope that the TM on the ones not destroyed is low enough that you get another turn before they do and can recover some H&P. Also helps if SEE hasn’t got healing immunity.
  • Padme is a good one to use against Padme as well, since courage damage isn't reflected.
  • Just to be clear as to what non-damaging stuff inflicts damage upon my own SEE... Just linking a pair of characters is enough to have damage reflected. Not sure how that qualifies, as linking isn't damage or a debuff, last I checked.

Linking sounds like a bug. Do you have Wat trying to drop DoTs at the same time triggering other debuffs and AA? If not might be worth a bug report.
  • Sorry for the delay. And no, I didn't have Wat Tambor out, if that makes any difference. Just SEE solo.
  • Did you have Amplify Agony (AA) as a disk, each time you deal a debfuf, you do a certain amount of damage which in turn can reflect back. SEE uses link, does damage and if AA is on, damage is reflected

Are you sure it’s happening upon Linking? SEE’s first turn he inflicts a Decieved on a LS enemy if there are none, whcih would also trigger AA and then Steadfast Retribution.

I like using Malak against Padme in Conquest, he ends up using Force Drain 2-3 times in a row which is enough to usually kill JKA and put a big dent in Padme/GK/whoever.
  • I don't recall if I had AA on him or not, but it is possible. And thank you for your advice about Malak. I'll keep that in mind when the next Conquest comes around. I don't think anyone else has posted anything about this, so it is probably that I had Amplify Agony and wasn't considering it properly.

Thank you all. Please take care and good luck with getting Taron Malicos! ^_^
