Stop Client Updates at Payout

It's always payout somewhere.

If you can't get to wifi to download the update there's a decent chance that issue lasts for a whole hour.

Overnight where?

Why can't they take a page from some other games, and give an in-game warning that an update will happen in x-minutes?

Yeah, you're right, if they can't make a perfect solution may as well not even bother making any improvement at all.

There’s plenty of things they could do to ease the frustration around this but don’t hold your breath.

They could easily add a server update message that displays a countdown before the client update hits which would allow people to move into place before hand.

True, but I'd bet money that the majority of players of this game are in the US... and they always do updates during US payout times. If they did it when the payout time was a time zone in the middle of the ocean, then there would be many fewer players it would affect, and of the ones it did affect, they would like have relatively little competition for their payout slot and therefore suffer less from it as well.

So it would be better for the majority of players, and not as detrimental to those it affected.

We try to avoid the top of the hour to avoid arena payouts and push Game Updates a little bit after the hour. While we can't please everyone, we do give notice here on the forums of when a Game Update is coming via the Game Update Status post to allow Players to plan accordingly.
