Strongest Empire Thrawn Team

Don't think this would work against Zaul. You'll be hard-pressed to go first, and AOE daze ruins the party.

Oh yes Zaul. But will people want to put zaul in arena ? It gets knocked down so hard once you put it up. Everyone has a Rex team

Once shards are mature and the majority have Rex / R2 / GK, zDM will seem very dead. He can win some on O still, but vs. elite GK / Chaze / R2 comps that's not at a high rate and on D he gets pulverized.

Had a shardmate that used him yesterday and forgot to switch him out overnight. He woke up outside of the 50 rank from being in the top 5. This is no bum player either - has a 6* G11 ATF, 7* G11 Chaze, etc...Maul just gets absolutely pulverized in a developed arena.

Call him dead not dead - bottom line is he shouldn't be a consideration when constructing teams going forward because you won't see him in D slots much longer if you still are and many players don't want to re-mod teams switching back and forth with multiple characters / builds to even attack with, especially when it's pointless because R2 / GK / Rex work so well anyway.

what we did see, is GarS and ISC, they both are pretty bad in high-arena terms.
TBH, also DT, Kren are not that great in. tarkin on paper is good, on reality is bad, veers the same..
zader barely cut it anymore, palp would be better under zaul, and TFP is the only good empire toon.
if thrawn will make one of the useless empire above to be better than TFP/Palp... i'll be shocked.

Hmm, a thrawn team... Lets use maul to win, then you swap back to your usual flavor of the month for your next match...

Besides, if OP's squad hecomes meta, and zaul is the only one beating it, zaul will become more widely used, which means rex becomes more widely used, which means zaul dies again, for thrawn to re-emerge - until the next best thing comes around

That's not how arena works anymore. The idea is you need a team that beats every team and occasionally wins on D so you can jockey close to payout. Nobody is going to be switching squad when they are going to be a part of 4 different battles in the last 15 minutes.

I think the best Thrawn lead teams will include RG and Shore. They stand to gain a lot of TM then and are super tanky. The plus two will probably rotate.

I think using storm as a tank is best for TM since he reduces the opponents TM by 10% every time he is hit

Thrawn (l), veers zeta, shore, DT, Stormtrooper. Lot of TM gain, double cleanse with Thrawn + his leader ability, lot of protection gain, TM gain as well, offense Up on 4 chars, crit immunity, defense Up, double taunt, speed up on 4 chars as well, AoE and assist, deathmark, daze, healing immunity, fracture, etc...
I would go for it, it requires 4 zeta in total excluding DT so I would say it's great.
Again it's theory crafting so we'll see

Let's assume you're correct. That would give us Rex (L), R2, GK, Chaze against the suggested comp of Gar Saxon (L), Thrawn, ISC, Boba, GK/Shore. R2 is likely to go first, and use Smoke Screen to give Baze foresight and stealth the rest. Then Chirrut goes, giving everyone tenacity up. Now your Boba can go, but ability block won't land. Then Thrawn can go, and I grant you that Fracture looks great against Baze, but the continuous loop you're dreaming of will never materialize. I'm not saying you won't win, but it's not as good as it sounds.

Thinking this as well.. maybe with snow or DK instead of storm. That or switch Veers and Thrawn lead.. just have to test and see what works.
