Tenacity, Potency, Speed, pp.

Hey Guys,

it is me again with another question. I would like to know if there are any caps of these Abilities.

I read something that it is useless to raise potency above 75 % (?) because of a natural Resistance of each char. Are there any guides recommended?

Thanks a lot.
  • There is a 15% base chance to resist. So even if you have 100% vs. 0 tenacity, they would resist 15% of the time.

The speed cap is whatever you can get. I've heard of speed secondaries as high as 20, but these are not so easy to come by. My highest secondary is 9, but then again I have fewer than 300 mods. A speed primary (arrow only) will be 30 max on a five dot.

The consensus on tenacity seems to be it looks good on paper. The dormula dor resist chance is tenacity - potency, and as I said, a 15% lower limit on the result. So you need tenacity that is more than 15 higher than opponent's potency to give you an advantage over the base.
  • While yes there is always a 15% chance a status lands... That does not necessarily mean Tenacity above 85% is useless. Though I would say it would be fairly rare that you would need more than 85% Tenacity.

The way it works is sorta list this...

    1. % chance to inflict status is calculated... If this hits calculations continue. If not, effect will not apply anyway.
    2. Now resistance is calculated. Which is: Attacker Potency % - Defender Tenacity % with a minimum of 15%

So if your opponent has 100% Potency and you have 85% Tenacity you would hit the exact 15% min change of a status to "stick".

The same would be true if they have 90% Potency and you have 75% Tenacity... and so on. Technically an opponent could have more than 100% Potency, this is the case in which where Tenacity above 85% would be used.

The the key is looking at your opponents stats and see where their Potency is and then determine how much Tenacity you may want.

The meta always leans toward speed, right now it seems the meta is negative status effects (aka sith/empire). If you can't out-speed them (highly likely given Zaul and SA) your only shot really is Tenacity and cleansers like Rex.
  • Max speed secondary is 25 by the way.
Only comes on a gold mod with speed revealed as 5, and goes up by 5 at 3, 6, 9, and 12,
