There is more to it than GP.

tbf I doubt it, our guild for example got a 14M gp higher guild with more g12 meta toons as gk, thrawn, cls... and more zetas with similar average arena ranking
we got +10M GP this tw, we never got a close GP opponent in all the previous tw.
I'd love if a dev could clear what's the criteria in matchmaking.

    Doubt it all you want.

While some of the community has expressed concern over matchmaking, we’d like to detail the following:

    • The Active GP bracket only determines the rewards for the guild. This does not factor into matchmaking.
    • Matchmaking is based on a variety of factors including the GP of units that can participate

I don't think they will give us any more specific details to avoid people trying to work the system.

units that can participate are 6k+ GP toons.
a lot of players are reporting that they're getting 20M higher GP guilds, so this 20M came from units that can't participate, let's assume the average of a non participating toon is 5k, so by dividing the 20M by 50 members and 5k GP, it shows that every member has 80 units at GP <6k .

Are we talking guild GP or active GP, in every case is it 50/50?

Assuming 5k is a big assumption. But without knowing all the details and the actual setup for the matching calculation this is all moot. My only point is that it is more than just GP, and comparing guild vs guild without know any details doesn't mean anything.

agree that we need more details.
note: if the number is less than 5k it will give us even more than 80 unparticipsting toons per member lol
  • Individual/average GP are far better ways to match up than guild GP. Middle players have a lot of characters between 6 and 10K that are largely useless in TW because they lack synergy or are too weak...more advance players have more matured versions of those same characters with minimal upgrades in GP. Even things like mods make a big difference.

This is exactly how to sandbag. Remove all mods from lower geared toons and it lowers your guild’s active toon gp.
